Prizes for the arcade

I LOVE THE ARCADE!Maybe you can give out prizes for the people who have the highest scores and who hold on to it for a period of time.Maybe a discount or something else.It would have more people play.

Yeah, that sounds good. With the new store, I can set up a discount coupon that can only be used one time. I could PM one each to each of the folks in that winners' circle box in the arcade area. Say 50% off of a $100. order. Maybe do that once a week on Sunday mornings. You could use it yourself or give it away to a friend. There are 4 folks in there at the moment. Is that normal, or does it vary I wonder???

So, unless someone can think of a fairer way, I will PM the 4 people in that Arcade News box every Sunday morning (whenever I happen to look at it) with a discount coupon password:
* it will be good for a 50% discount up to a $100. order (ie: $50. off)
* if not used within 1 week it will also expire automatically
* it must be used within 1 week or it will exprire
* It CAN be given away to a friend however

I might change the way this is run at any point for any of various reasons.

Hey Bruce, If you do the prize thing, are you going to reset the scores or just randomly deciede to start using current standings?

You could reset the scores by the end of each month. The members with the best score in an arcade game by the end of the month would have the right to that special discount (only one valid per player).

But those scores would be deleted again and all would start again for 1 more month. By the end of this month, same thing... the players with the best score in an arcade game would earn the discount. And so on...

You could use some rules, like for example, a member can't have access to the discount in 2 consecutive months. If someone is the best in a game in 2 consecutive months, then the prize would be for the one with the second best score. You could also save the best records of each month as a curiosity, so that we can check it.

I don't know if I explained this correctly, sorry for any mistake... I had some problems finding the correct words...

Webby said he could automate the whole thing somehow to create coupon prizes, mail them out and everything. In the mean time, I should do it by hand, huh? I don't think we would reset them though; just give coupons to folks who had set new records.
