Cologne, EO, and Pheromone exchange thread

Okay! I thought I'd give this idea for a thread a shot!

If any of you are like me, you probably have a shelf-full of colognes, essential oils, pheromone products, etc. that have accumulated over time that just didn't work out, or you're no longer interested in. Or perhaps they were a gift that just wasn't right.

So, what to do with them? They may be too good to toss, or were just too expensive to see them go wasted. The resale shops don't want used "personal" products, nor generally do the church rummage sales. Not even eBayable! And you don't have someone else to give it to (especially if it was a gift from someone who might find out...).

So here's an idea. Use this thread to "Offer" these unwanted products to other forum members. Or post a "Wanted" if you are looking for a product you might want to try, but not spend big bucks on. Deals could be worked out privately using the PM feature (rather than load the thread with negotiation messages). As items are disposed of, "Offerers" could edit their original posts to remove the disposed of items (or add new ones), or of course just add a new post (but that may get confusing).

Yes LS has a "return" policy for their products, but this would cover those items that don't qualify.

Of course, whatever deals made would be between users, and not involve LS. You'd have to depend on each other to be upfront and complete the transactions. You could ask for payment (eg via Paypal), or just offer stuff free. Whatever.

Just make it clear if you are "Offering" or if it's a "Wanted." Be specific, upfront, and detailed in your descriptions. Make people know if an item is no longer available.

I'm going to leave it up to Bruce and the Powers-That-Be to decide if there should be any restrictions here. A competing seller to LS would probably be a no-no. Mainly for us common end-users only.

Be nice, use common sense, and we can all win and be the better for it.

What the idea here is is NOT to compete with LS but:

A) give people a chance to get rid of unwanted or underused items they don't want anymore.

B) give people a chance to try out products that aren't readily avialable as samples and/or are too costly to purchase in a large quantity.


It's not competeing with LS, because we're not talking about selling "new" products in a "retail" sense, and it includes products that LS *DOESN'T* sell, like straight colognes.

For LS products, yes you could buy and try, then use the return option if you don't like it. But that just loads up LS with "used" products that can't be sold as new. This could actually be to LS's advantage, in that it would give people an opportunity to try or experiment with a product they wouldn't have tried before, and could result in them placing an order to LS. Or suggesting a product LS could carry.

This does depend on everyone being honest about their dealings. But I have faith that a vast majority of people on these forums will honor their transactions. People had doubts about eBay. Now look.

ALSO! LS itself would be free to use this thread to offer *their* overstock or specials like they used to do with the auctions.

Well Rbt, I guess if the moderators leave your message up then it's okay with LS;though it feels like your taking advantage of the LS web site by seeking a supplier for a product LS carries.

It seems to me that if you have a desire for a product, such as A-1, that LS carries, you should make your purchase from LS rather than going through their web site to find a cheaper supplier from their forum membership.

Using the LS forum as a clearing house for used and unwanted products doesn't seem to be fair and proper, in the business sense, to Love-Scent.

hey, my first ad got deleted with the database issue, so i'm gonna try again.

looking to TRADE. i have a bottle of PI/m i'd like to trade for something. i haven't used it much (sticking to NPA), maybe 2-3 applications, so let's say 3/4ths of a bottle. i purchased it close to, but not over, a year ago. i can take a picture of the bottle, no problem.

If someone crosses the line, I'm sure the mods will delete. The way I see it, sometimes we have a product, like for instance my NPA that does not work with our own signature/situation. Do I want to return that bottle to Bruce? No way! :nono: I bought it with full knowledge that it wasn't guaranteed to work for me, and I was willing to assume that risk. Why should Bruce have to carry the risk for me? So 30 days or not - I would never return a bottle just because it doesn't work for me or I don't like the smell. Now if someone else wants to test it - Note that Rbt was looking for a "small" quantity - I don't see why my bottle should go to waste?

I suppose there is always the opportunity for abuse, but I'm sure if it happens, the powers that are will notice quickly enough. All of this being said, I like your concern and loyalty! :kiss:

You (lets say Naughtie) have the NPA and dont want to just return it. BENEFIT#1/:thumbsup: no refund from LS =more $$ in their pocket

Myself a Newbie wants to try everything! You know how excited we Newbies get! :D You used to be one! I decide on just a couple items $50-$100 but still want more/different things. So I am able to get another thing I want to try at a lesser price, :lol: and therefore increasing my chance for success and postivie experience with mones! And WHO will I be going back to buy more when that is gone? ?? BENEFIT#2/:thumbsup: return business.

Now Naughtie has my $$ and uses it to buy that other mix/frangrance/whatever she has had her eye on from WHO?? again. BENEFIT#3/:thumbsup: Additional business.

Maybe you have tried TE and it has worked ok for you but C7 or some completely new formula from LS comes out and is lighting it up and your jealous/anxious. You dont have the cash right now. C'mon weve all been there.
You deal your TE for some cash(to someone who doesnt have the cash for the TE new right now either), put a little of your own $$, and you go WHERE to buy it? See where Im going here?

Im sure all of us could come up with situations you want to try a new item but have so many other things and not enough $$ this would allow people to turn one into the other and that means more $$ for LS.

Not to mention a newbie who doesnt have much $$ but still wants to try, he might otherwise just say :frustrate F*ck It! and not bother, but if he could pick something up for a decent price he might try it and then LS has another customer. :cheers: Then ultimately more $$ for LS the more/better products LS is able to offer US!

Naughty is very correct when she says " we buy items from LS" knowing there's a 30 day guarantee" but yet we all are well aware those items we buy may be or may not work for some like they do for others!! and yet I took the risk on getting them & I guess by knowing we have that option of the 30 days sort of make things easier just incase right? (thanks Bruce)..

But to be honest It seems more trouble for me to send them back then to keep them. Why? well go figure, I guess I just "hope" for a miricle to happen next time I give it a try again? hahaha

Plus, I got different items all at once in my first and 2nd orders therefor I didn't get to use each & one of them within the 30 days so I was pretty much out of luck anyway. And yep, it doesn't seem alright to me to send them back to Bruce in the first place because ummm I just don't like doing that.
There's times I buy the wrong thing at a store and I hate going back to exchange things or to get my money back, call me lazy or whatever you want but I just rather keep things that I don't use then to go back to customer service and explain why am I there! I avoid long lines and headaches..
I hate going to the post office too! and last but not list I like Bruce because he is very fair and very decent type of guy therefor I want his business running.

But going back to this post now here we have the chance to get rid of something we don't care to have anymore and get something different and who knows maybe my AE didn't work for me but maybe it does for someone else? and perhaps lets say PCC didn't work for Naughty but it did wonders for me so then I decide to buy me a new bottle from LS since there was not much left in the bottle I got from the NG and I just gotta have a NEW BOTTLE.


I can see the positive side of this because I think is a decent idea.
Regardless if this goes on or not I just wanted to say opinion on this one.
I love my MONES and at one time I even got Pi/W from the items that were sent back and I fell inlove with it I still have some left and it's been a while since I got it.
So PI/W is on my list for my next order.

Well, I'm going to do a bit of a "bump" here and reinterate my request for a bit of A1 or a product that contains A1 (Androstadienone). I can't afford a $70 bottle just to get an opinion and do a quick test. I'm looking to see how it might affect ME as well as others.

Also any older products that are no longer carried by LS, or some "competing" products would be considered as well (we all know the stuff here is better, but I'm curious).

I've become a fan of Chikara and Pheros too (for the scent if nothing else), so if there are some out there who want to part with their no longer used bottles let me know (PM is fine if not preferred). Would also like to sample things like Realm, Rogue Male, the IR colognes, etc.

im looking for a bit of pheros that i could try, i would be willing to pay for shipping. ive heard great things but just dont have the cash to dish out 60 bucks to try it
