I believe the density of distubing news regarding the U.S administration over the past four years is unmatched in history (however mainstream the news has/has not been). So the tendency, however inaccurate, can be to regard "the message" as being overly negative.
With this in mind, these are major travesties I should have been talking about here all along but deliberately haven't, so as not to overwhelm folks. I was trusting the intelligent, informed people were following things adequately on their own.
But Amnesty sums up the not-so-nice picture quite nicely; so, in a nutshell (no pun intended):

Remember when the U.S. was regarded here and everywhere else as a champion of human rights? It seems it wasn't that long ago. Make no mistake: This is no more. Quite the opposite.
