Prayers go out to those in the path. I hope the poor of N'Orleans who don't have cars find a way to keep safe and damage is minimal. It looks bad, like Andrew (another category 5).

It's quite sad for those hit, for those who survived. Mississippi got hit hardest by the actual hurricane. But with the New Orleans levees having broken, and much of the city under water, it's hard to imagine how they'll recover, and how soon. But I guess they will; the human spirit goes on. It's hard to imagine anyone wanting to live there any more, since the same thing can happen every year with the way hurricanes are becoming more powerful these days. I also guess a lot more lives could have been lost. But we don't quite know the bottom line of how bad it was yet.

They'll need prayers, and money. The Red Cross would be a safe bet.

Saw about ten uninterrupted minutes of helicopter footage tonight on MSNBC's Countdown. Wow. Like one comment I heard, This is America's tsunami.

Some fool on another board I've been visiting was rooting for a lot of destruction from this and claiming he was using mindpower to increase the intensity of the storm. He also wanted to use his mindpower to blow up the space shuttle but he "slept through the launch."

Pretty sick guy.
