Well I was smoking a cig.. and I came up with a revolutionary invention that I think no one has thought of. I don't know the in's and out's of patenting inventions. Also I don't have much money to put my invention out there.. but can anybody help me with this?
I know when this invention is fully publicized I will be a multi-millionare. Please give me some tips... I'm so excited!

if you live in the USA I would recommend that you look in the yellow pages under Attorneys and, depending how large of a town you live in, there should be someone who specializes in patents. If none, call any attorney and ask for a referral to an appropriate attorney.

You may not need an attorney. They are not necessary for every thing in life. I incorporated my company for less than $100.00 and it is just as incorporated now as it would have been if I would have paid an attorney to do it for several hundred or even several thousands of dollars.
With patents you have several guide line and processes you have to follow. But it is not so prohibitively complicated that you can not learn it and do it your self. Also if you are going to invent then you are smart enough to learn the system
Using an attorney is great advice and may be necessary depending on the product. If you have any questions I can show you what I am talking about. I have a web site I can show you that has two patents for the same thing. It is just one was manufactured for 30 years and then sold to another company and they repentant it. The reason I would refer you to see their patents is so you understand how they write the legal description of the item being patented.
Any way here is the US Patent web site. Check it out. I also am an inventor. I will tell you now it is hard and a lot of the work. The time done to get your product on the market will come out of your time, energy and money.

PS. Keep me informed as to how it is going and also read some books about business and incorporating. You will have to think like a rich person and with a business mind if you expect to make it happen. First book Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. Also never share your invention with any one ever till it is patented

Oscar would be a good one to ask here. He's an inventor.
