Default Cologne

visit-red-300x50PNG
I just read the old post regarding

colognes. Le Male seems to be huge (I will check it out).

What is your opinion of Ralph Lauren\'s new one

called \"Romance Silver\". I am thinking about getting a bottle. Also, has anyone used \"kiton\" (available

only at Nordstoms).

\"Angel\" for men is on my short list also. Interested in your thoughts.

\'Angel\' is

definetly a stand out that is noticed. lol It\'s great.
\'Cool Water\' is a good low key one it seems. For

me at least.

I\'ve been hearing good stuff about \'le male\' recently in Oz. Knew about it through the

forum, but it never made waves here until recently. I don\'t have it. Yet. Got too many I think now as it is.

Angel

Amen certainly is a good one. Makes one smell edible and is probably the longest lasting cologne that I\'ve ever

worn.

Here are some other colognes I recommend and you may want to try -
Spark by Liz Claiborne
Kouros

by Yves St Laurent
Diesel Zero Plus
Gendarme - Been using this one off and on for years...I use it for mostly

romantic evenings because the scent is light. Women love this one on me

Another vote for Angel for

Men.
My new favorite men\'s cologne is Rochas. If any of you guys have a Sephora around you, go in and sample

some. It\'s outrageously yummy.

I have one five blocks or so from me, will have to check it out.

As for

Angel, I have it too. Last night I sprayed one spray into a plastic teaspoon that was shaped as a half-sphere.

Then I added a FO called Lover\'s Moon (blend of gardernia and white musk) from Auric Blends. Mind you it was

just one drop.

To my surprise, the thing smelled so much like Strawberries with that combo!!!

It was the

strangest thing to ever happen to me that day.

colognes, I\'m not surprised that you like Rochas Man. I\'d consider them to be in the same class, but I kinda

think Rochas Man seems more sophisticated or refined. If I were to get a new cologne I\'d go for Rochas. I may

have a link that offers samples or minis of Rochas, not sure which. I\'ll check on that.

\"Romance Silver\". I really like this stuff. Got a sample of \"Angel\". I like it, but I am not crazy over

it. I have not tried \"Le Male\" cologne yet, but soon I will. I got a sample of \"Vera Wang\" for men, but I

have not played with it yet.

While I was at it I got a bottle of \"Vera Wang\" for women for the wife. She put

her other stuff aside and that is all she has worn since Friday.

Dammit woman - don\'t go stealing all my stuff. Rochas Man is a killer

evening cologne that is roughly tied for my favorite with Diesel Zero Plus. Very similar to Mugler\'s Angel Amen,

but substantially cheaper and more \"acceptable\" in terms of overall top, middle and bottom notes. (Amen can be

a touch overpowering on some people.)

Other gourmand type scents that are exceptional, but less known

are:

H.M. by Hanae Mori
- Hard to find, but absolutely stunning. More subtle than either Angel Amen and Rochas

Man, but more intricate, refined and, I feel, sexier.

Cristobal by Balceniaga

Yohji Homme by Yojhi

Yamamoto

Casran by Chopard
- Kinda in-between Angel and Lolita in terms of smell.

Lolita Lempicka Masculin by

Lolita Lempicka
- Less chocolate and more licorice/anise.

These gourmand scents are definitely evening scents,

and not for the office. (Typically too sweet and too overpowering for professional/day wear.) They are exceptional

for clubs (where they stand out in even smokey environments), or for thirdish type dates where intimacy is a

possibility.

They are sweeter than most other colognes, and some guys think that they come off as a little faggy

or chick smelling. Not for everyone.

The sweeter orientals can cover a little more ground in terms of usage than

the gourmands. Some of my favorites are:

Diesel Zero Plus by Diesel

Diesel Plus Plus by Diesel

Allure

Homme by Chanel

Minotaure by Paloma Picasso

- A more mature smell, but still sexy. Probably not best for the

late teens or early twenties crowd.

Both the oriental and gourmands are a little heavier, and probably

wouldn\'t be that appropriate for spring or summer use. Kick butt in the fall and winter though.

I went out looking for

a new scent the other day and found most of the colognes to tutti frutti for my chemistry. Plus after sniffing 20 or

the citrus in them? I could not tell because my nose was fried.
